As an example, Indonesia’s foreign policy goals under President Soekarno is to secure international recognition and handle the western act of aggression (Haryanto, 2016). Indonesia’s foreign policy strategy might be different based on the current political circumstance and the current administration. As domestic affairs defines foreign policy, this article raised the question of how this relocation is associated with foreign policy. As a current debate, Indonesia’s government is in the process where its capital will be relocated from Jakarta to North Penajem Pasar and officially named Nusantara. In line with this statement, it is believed that Indonesia’s domestic situation has a significant impact on foreign policy. Indonesia’s foreign policy which is based on the constitution reflects its multicultural society, identity, and global perspective.
